Final Dream

Maybe space art is the only thing the instructor of Coffee and Canvas knows how to paint. Or maybe it's the only art that a room full of noobs can make decently in 3 hours. Either way, this was painted yesterday, and is likely the last painting I will do this year, hence "Final Dream". Don't worry, assuming nothing kills me in the next 12 months, I would probably make more by then.

This is it, the final acrylic painting that I shoehorned in 2hu characters this year. Which only have slightly over a month left, time flies. Well I paid 5 bucks for this event, so they better gave good tools to work with. The tools and colors are good enough, so I was able to make this masterpiece. That looks exactly like the other masterpiece I made before. Check my gallery for "Scorpio". Making clouds is the easy part. The hard part is making stars look like stars. Which they don't because the whites are not bright and distinct enough. Space images are mostly fake anyways. The human eye cannot see the faint spectrum of nebula and gas clouds, because there is not enough light. Space is dark. And faint. And when there are planets in the foreground, the light of the planet washes out all the stars. Which is why images of the Earth from the moon is so boring. Compared to artistic impressions, that is. Reality really hates art. So art hates reality back. Abstract impressionism. I wonder if some of them fake it to victory. Like I did.

Somebody wrote in the comments probably on reddit but maybe on deviantart im not sure about the questions i raised about all the weird dream and fantasy worlds of pc-98 and how there are so many of them. Their theory is that a powerful enough being like Mima and Yuuka can create worlds all willy nilly. But what if all the worlds are connected or something, because to create worlds you need a world to create a world in and you don't actually own the world you're just renting some space and make it your domain until the protagonist kicks you out. Which is why all of them are able to meet here. In the intersections of the created worlds. Almost all of them. I ran out of time and cannot draw them all. But I did get representation from all 5 pc-98 games, so that is good enough. Outer space is how different worlds work right? Everything that is not this world is space.

A big gripe about turning physical artworks into digital one, is the lighting is all wrong. I don't have professional lighting space and cameras, so I can't capture what the artwork looks like in person. Enhancing the artwork with the auto function in Photoshop helps make it look better, but it often does not replicate what it actually looks like in real life. Which is sometimes good if the real art sucks, but bad if the real art already have the correct colors and the digital version is all ruined by the lighting and context.
